The children got inspired of how fast their plants are growing so they decide to draw their own flower. The children first drew their flower using glue and black paint mixed together. They children had to lay their drawings outside so they would dry. Once their drawings were dry it was time for the fun painting. The children even decided to add a touch of glitter they were so proud of their Spring flowers.
The children have been asking why is it so important to put on sunscreen before outside play. Some of the children do not like putting on sunscreen so i made it into activity so that the children had a better understanding. The children were asked to fold their black paper into two halves. Then they were asked to put sunscreen on one side. I asked the children what their predictions were if we put the sunscreen and leave their paper on the sun.The children said that the paper were fall apart. So they gave it a try and found out that the side with no sunscreen had turn into gray with discolored spots and the other side that had sunscreen was still the same color black.
The children did glow in the dark frog slime. They first mixed glow in the dark powder with cornstarch. In a separatecontainer they mixed water with food coloring. The children after mixed all the ingredients together until they got a thick slime. The children then poured the slime on a platter so that it can dry for a few minutes. The children were ready to take it to a dark room and they were so fascinated of the results they got. The children had so much fun and they could not take their hands off that glow in the dark slime!
The children did and art activity using tissue paper and water. The children first sprayed water all over on their paper. Then they placed different color square tissue paper on top of the wet paper. The children sprayed water on their paper one last time and put a timer for 10 min. When the 10 min where up they peeled off the tissue paper and saw bright awesome patterns!
The children did a science experiment with a dry paper towel, a glass cup, and a tray filled up with water. The children filled up the tray first. Then they all placed their paper inside the glass cup. The children all predicted that if the cup and the towel would go on they tray that it would come out wet. One of the children predicted that the glass would protect the towel so it would come out dry. Each child put their cups upside down inside the tray. When they took the cup out they couldn’t believe that the towel came out dry, the children said its just like magic !
